Our story

My mom just knew how to make the daily, the ordinary special and with very little as she reimagined everything, bringing new life to a particular piece. What was just a cake plate for my birthday cake was now a serving platter for homemade cookies after school. The magic of coming home to such a special and delectable site! A lovely card became a piece of art when placed in an old frame. Walking by it, day after day and feeling the love originally evoked from first opening. And in her practice of this “over and over again” memories were created and traditions were set. Of note, it was particularly difficult to maintain an unpleasant mindset when these simple sentiments of love were always around. My mom knew what she was doing, a constant nurturing for the soul.

I would be amiss if I did not share that I also had a creative, hard working and inspirational father! He’s the story behind the name, Acme Vintage Co.. He was the proud owner and operator of Acme Well Drilling in a small Michigan town. Back then you found your tradesperson through the Yellow Pages. Placing the word “Acme” prior to your trade always placed you at the top of said trade section. Pretty clever, yes? Now does it still have that genius, luring, advertising power? Certainly not but, as with my mom, it is beautiful in sentiment and brings joy to my heart. I hope my little company will do the same for you, your family and friends or anyone you choose to share or bestow any of our vintage treasures.
